- My name is Anne Martin, and I am an Energy Advisor for Midwest Energy Cooperative. We are an electric provider with over 35,000 members in 11 counties, and our territory extends to Indiana and Ohio. Part of my job is to speak to community groups about what we do, and to educate our members about all sorts of energy issues. I was also a Rotary Exchange Student to Kuroishi, Japan from 1996 to 1997!
- In today’s growing society, competition for our natural resources is increasing more and more. In addition, the environmental impacts from the extraction and burning of fossil fuels are becoming more of a concern each day. It is apparent that we must begin to take more meaningful steps towards energy efficiency and conservation.
- The presentation that I offer can be re-worked to include a variety of topics related to these issues; such as reasons/solutions for energy conservation, renewable forms of energy, home energy usage and efficiency (components and how to improve), home sealing and insulation, etc.
- I am always willing to try to work in any new related topic that you may have an interest in, and I do not require any special equipment for my presentation. A screen for a projected presentation is helpful, but not required. Length of this presentation can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 ½ hours in length. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to meeting with you!
