Don joined the Rotary Club of Jackson in 1984.
He has served on several of the club’s committees and
served as project chair on such committees as the Rotary Ramp
Committee and the Rotary Tram Service Fund Raising Committee.
Don has also served multiple board terms on the Rotary
Club of Jackson and the Jackson Rotary Foundation.
He has been an active member participating in most major
activities, events and fundraisers.
He served with the United States Navy from 1963 thru 1969 most
of this time with the Navy’s Mobile Construction Battalion
Eight, which included a nine-month tour of duty in Vietnam.
Returning from military service Don worked in commercial banking
for several years. A
19-year employee of Consumers Energy, formerly Consumer Power
Company, where he held a variety of positions with increasing
responsibility. For
the past 20 years he has worked as a licensed commercial
insurance sales executive and licensed surplus lines sales
agent. Don retired
at the end of August 2006 to pursue family and other interests.
Don served as club President during the 2001-2002 year and is a
Paul Harris Fellow.
He is an alumnus of Macomb County Community College and Central
Michigan University.
Don and his wife Ann Marie are originally from the Mt. Clemens,
MI area and have three grown children: Monica, Patrick and Steve
as well as six grandchildren.
Don served as DGE in 2009-10 and membership chair for 2008-9 and
looks forward to performing his duties as District Governor.
