Rotary Youth Exchange has a goal to promote the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace at the person to person level and is for high school aged students, aged 15 1/2 -19, interested in living and studying abroad for one year.

Types of Exchanges:
Long Term: The exchange student travels abroad and attends school in the host country for a full year and will have opportunities to participate in camps, meetings, and trips. They will be immersed in the language & culture of their host country. The student ambassador will be hosted by a local Rotary Club who will supervise the one to three host families they will live with.

Become a Host Family
Open your home and heart to a world of possibilities by becoming a District 6360 Youth Exchange host family. Experience diverse cultures and create lifelong connections while making a positive impact on a young person’s life. Join us in fostering global understanding and friendship through this enriching opportunity.
Summer Short Term Exchange (STEP)
We are now offering Summer Short Term (STEP) Family to Family or International Camps / Tours in addition to our long-term youth exchange program. The STEP has two different formats to choose from:
FAMILY TO FAMILY
STEP involves the matching of a USA student between the ages of 15-17 with a student from another country. Typically age, interests and gender are factors that are considered when making a match
- Students exchange (2-4 weeks abroad and 2-4 weeks hosting).
- The USA student travels to the host country at the beginning of the summer for a 3-4 week stay with their host brother or sister and their family.
- The host brother or sister then comes to stay with the USA family for 3-4 weeks later in the summer.
INTERNATIONAL CAMPS AND TOURS
International Camps and Tours involve a structured one-way experience where USA students between the ages of 16-25, most commonly 18-21, participate in a camp or tour in a host country that is planned and sponsored by local Rotarians in that country.
Housing arrangements may include home stays or group accommodations and experience not only the country but the opportunity to be with other exchange students from around the world who are also attending the camp or tour.
New camps each year – approved applicants receive notice as camps for summer of 2025 are announced.
